HOW CAN WE SAVE THE WORLD?

Nearly all the countries in the world have promised to IMPROVE the PLANET and the lives of its citizens by 2030.

They have committed themselves to 17 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS outlined by the United Nations in 2015. Here you have them all in the box below:

1. I strongly believe you can do something to save the world in order to improve the Planet Earth, don't you think so?

2. Now concentrate on the ECOLOGICAL goals in order to celebrate the World Environment Day on 5th June 2020.

3. If we discuss the future, we often use the First Conditional to talk about a possible future result that depends on a specific situation.

Example: If many people drive cars, pollution will increase.

                                  (present simple)                   (future: will+infinitive)

ACTIVITY: practice here.

4. We use the Second Conditional to talk about hypothetical situations or to give advice.

Example: If you didn't buy plastic shopping bags, you would help the environment.

                          (past simple)                                               (would+infinitive)

ACTIVITY: practice here.

3. Take a PHOTOGRAPH of your action/s. It must be taken by YOU.

4. Write a brief EXPLANATION about your action/s. Remember to use the 1st conditional.

YOUR ACTIONS are here!

Thank U for all your contributions!

1. If I have paper, I will recycle it or give it a new use. 2. If I reuse the bottle of water, I will not need to waste plastic. 3. I will unplug the extension cord if I don't use it to save energy. 4. If I use means of transport that do not pollute (the bicycle, for example), I will save the world. 5. If I use a cloth bag, I will save the world. 6. If you carry the food in a tupper (lunch box). 7. If I use the bicycle, I won't pollute the air. 8. If you recycle, you will save the planet from pollution. 9. If it is daytime, we will keep the blinds up to take advantage of the sunlight. 10. If you turn off the tap when you brush your teeth, you will save water. 11. If I throw the waste in the correct trash, I will not pollute. 12. If you use solar lights, you will save energy.
